Valentine's Day Sorting and Graphing!

I gave each student a box of sweethearts to use to sort and graph.  This was such a fun activity to do, plus when they were done they were able to eat some of their math manipulatives!!! :)

I "mustache" you to be my Valentine!

We always make Valentine's Bags in kindergarten.  This year I found a cute idea from pinterest for Owls.  I thought that they would be perfect for the girls in my class, but the boys wouldn't be big fans.  I found mustache's and ties for the boys to add to their manly owl!  They turned out very cute!

Cereal Valentine's~

I found an idea on Pinterest for my Valentine's this year.  I remember when I was little and loved getting the individual sized cereal boxes.  We usually got them when we stayed at hotels.  I know the students will get so much candy for their Valentines, so I wanted to do something different!  Hopefully they will like them!

Our Completed Igloo~

We finally finished the construction of our igloo.  It took us over a month to collect enough milk jugs, but I am very excited that it is all done!  I haven't counted the jugs yet, but there are way more than our igloo last year.  The hardest part was the roof of our igloo!

The students are very proud of our igloo and can't wait to play in it!  (Check out the models in the front!) :)

100 Years Old~

For our 100th day we dressed like we were actually 100 years old!  (I think the teachers enjoy this more than the students) :)
A few old ladies!

Our 100th Day of Kindergarten~

Estimating 100 items!  We had fun estimating and checking to see what jar had 100 items in it. We realized that it is hard to tell just by looking at the jars.

I labeled the jars to make it easier for the students to pick their answer!
We had a Hershey Kiss Hunt.  The students had to work together to put them in order from 0-100.  I labeled them in AB order to make it a little bit easier to put all the kisses in order!

Groundhog Day~

On Friday we predicted if Punxsutawney Phil would see his shadow on Saturday. We made our own pictograph to display what we thought might happen.  We predicted that Phil would see his shadow.  On Monday we watched the actual video and discussed that Phil did indeed  see his shadow and that Spring would hopefully be coming soon.  The students were excited to see that they were right in their predictions!
