More Alphabet Party~

Here are our completed Capital and lowercase letter posters!

Each student was supposed to bring in their favorite animal.  We also picked out some other animals so we would have enough for each letter!
Now that we are done with our alphabet wall...it's turning into our Math wall!

Alphabet Party~

Since we recently finished learning about our alphabet.  We had an alphabet party.  I asked that each student wear a green shirt and brown pants and if they didn't have these colors to wear a tree color (yellow, orange, red).  We made our own Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom hats.  We also picked out foam letters and stuck them to our shirts so we looked like the actually coconut tree.  We had so much fun making our costumes.
We also did different alphabet activities through-out the day.  We colored capital letters and matched them with their lowercase letter.

We also played letter musical chairs and had a fun snack!  We had so much fun!

Letter of the Week Z~

We finally finished our last letter of the alphabet. We made Zebras for the letter Z.

Letter Q~

This week our focus is the letter Q.  We decided to make a quilt and hang it in the hallway.  We made a snowy neighborhood quilt.  Each student got to choose what bright colors they wanted to use for their part of the quilt.  We used q-tips and white paint to make the snow.

Letter P Penguin Art~

We have been learning all about penguins, why not make penguin art!  My students kept thinking the penguins were wearing ear phones, ear muffs must have been from my era as a kid. :)

Letter O~

O is for Ostrich.  We had a fun afternoon making our ostrich's.  We watched a video that showed people racing on ostrich's and a video of them running in the wild.  The kids loved this.  Then we made our very own to hang on our alphabet wall.

Letter I~

I'm a little behind.  We worked on the letter "I" last week for our letter of the week.  We made ice cream for our art project.  I used 1/2 glue 1/2 shaving cream mixed with paint to make it stand out more and look like actual ice cream.  The mixture makes it puffier than usual paint.  We finished with a cherry on top! :)
